Our Program

Early Years Grades Pre-Nursery till Grade II

Play based learning: Play-based learning is an early childhood education approach inspired by Finland’s education system. It emphasizes well-being, a learner-centered approach, and the importance of play. Finnish education promotes exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and a connection with nature. Adopting this Finnish-inspired pedagogy fosters a supportive learning environment, nurturing holistic development and preparing children for a successful educational journey.

DEAR: DEAR program is a whole-school program that allows students, teachers, and everyone else present at the campus to take a break from their daily routines and immerse themselves in the world of books. During this time, everyone picks a book of their choice, fostering a culture of reading and literacy. This initiative encourages a love for reading, improves reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension, and provides a valuable moment of relaxation and escapism. It demonstrates that reading is a lifelong skill and a source of enjoyment, promoting a habit that enhances knowledge, creativity, and overall well-being.

PSHE: At the IUSS, Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) is a fundamental part of the curriculum, dedicated to nurturing well-rounded, responsible, and informed individuals. Our PSHE program covers a broad spectrum of topics including emotional well-being, physical health, social skills, and emotional understanding. Through interactive lessons and discussions, students learn about mental health, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and personal safety. They also explore essential life skills such as financial literacy, career planning, and civic responsibility.

Holistic development approach: Developmentally appropriate pedagogy tailors teaching methods, curriculum, and activities to match the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development stages of learners. This holistic approach nurtures all aspects of growth and well-being, acknowledging that children progress through developmental milestones at their own pace. It creates a learning environment that is both challenging and supportive, fostering comprehensive development in every student.

Lego Based Learning: Lego-based learning is a versatile and effective educational tool that transforms traditional classrooms into dynamic, interactive learning spaces. By incorporating Lego into various subjects, educators can significantly enhance student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking skills. This approach not only enriches the academic experience but also prepares students for future challenges in both academic and real-world contexts.
