DEAR: DEAR program is a whole-school program that allows students, teachers, and everyone else present at the campus to take a break from their daily routines and immerse themselves in the world of books. During this time, everyone picks a book of their choice, fostering a culture of reading and literacy. This initiative encourages a love for reading, improves reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension, and provides a valuable moment of relaxation and escapism. It demonstrates that reading is a lifelong skill and a source of enjoyment, promoting a habit that enhances knowledge, creativity, and overall well-being.
PSHE: At the IUSS, Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) is a fundamental part of the curriculum, dedicated to nurturing well-rounded, responsible, and informed individuals. Our PSHE program covers a broad spectrum of topics including emotional well-being, physical health, social skills, and emotional understanding. Through interactive lessons and discussions, students learn about mental health, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and personal safety. They also explore essential life skills such as financial literacy, career planning, and civic responsibility.
Digital Literacy with CISCO: Introducing our innovative curriculum tailored for primary grades, placing a strong emphasis on practical, digital literacy-integrated learning. Developed collaboratively by experienced educators and our Teaching and Learning Unit (TLU) at IUSS, the DL Curriculum spans Grades I through V, aligning seamlessly with the renowned Cambridge Learning Outcomes framework. What sets us apart is our partnership with CISCO, enhancing our curriculum with cutting-edge expertise in digital education. This curriculum not only equips students with essential digital literacy skills but also ensures their seamless integration across various subjects, preparing them for success in the digital age.
Mutala-e-Quran: In collaboration with the ILM Foundation, IUSS introduces Mutala-e-Quran, a program designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Quran. Specially crafted books by the ILM Foundation are utilized, with IUSS teachers receiving training from ILM scholars. The program progresses through eight levels, ensuring a solid foundation for students. Additionally, a special book is provided for non-Muslim students, focusing on ethics, while Muslim students engage in learning to recite Quranic verses, their translations, and Islamic teachings. This initiative reflects IUSS’s commitment to fostering religious and ethical education in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
